I always look for fabric with an Asian design, therefore, I discovered THE QUILED LILY FABRICS posted on-line. They were selling ten small panels with Chinese daily life printings. The designs are vintage and used only two main colors in the printing. I really appreciate the details in the pictures, for example, Chinese women had their feet bound; a man carried a monkey while he was selling goods; a man had a pole to show the items for sale; and there were outfits from the late Qing dynasty (late 19 century). It took me two years to find some fabric to do the sashing and the border which I wanted to harmonize with the panels. I hand quilted the piece – it is a perfect way to display the ten panels.
