Three years ago, my son visited Japan and brought back three pieces of cloth for me. Using them, I created this falling leaves wall hanging. I used the light-coloured piece for the background. I went on a Quilting bus trip to Maine in the summer of 2014. There are so many famous lighthouses in Maine so I decided to make a Lighthouse Quilt after the trip. I was searching for pictures and patterns of lighthouses and finally I found one I liked from Peacemakers Quilting Calendar pattern. The pattern has different colors and shapes of lighthouses and houses. I also added more detail, such as animals and flowers. It turned out to be a lovely quilt. #72x78 #Applique

This is the third Geisha panel which I have worked on. I used fabric paint for the outfit and the scenery outside the window. I did some detailed painting on the tea pot and tea cup – it is challenging with a small painting. It shows she enjoys the atmosphere while having tea. #27x47 #Applique #FABRICPAINTING

This peacock has a beautiful crest on its head – it looks like a crown and makes it rather Regal in appearance. The beautiful colour of their neck and stunning markings on their tail make them very attractive. Peacock feathers have been used for centuries to fan Royalty and have become a part of the head-gear of Royalty and beautiful women. The 3-dimensional flowers were crocheted with yarn. The Moose is a funny looking animal with long legs, big hooves, a humpback and a very short tail. His eyes are as tiny as marbles and his nose is droopy. This wall hanging was a panel. I changed the sky to a lighter color which made it look like the sun is rising. More birds, flowers and trees have been added to make it look lively. I also used Angeline fibers to highlight the waterfall and thread painting to show the beautiful colors of the tropical birds. This wall hanging is only 36½” x 47½”.
